Volkl Revolt 121 Ski 2024

Volkl have headed off in a completely new direction with this ski. The Revolt 121 has traditional camber and a rather solid flex underfoot combined with plenty of rocker at both tip and tail.
Volkl wanted to create a ski that combines the expectations of very different members of the Volkl Pro Team such as Sam Smoothy and Markus Edder. The result is the Revolt 121, a ski that works for both classic freeriding and newschool freestylers wanting to make tricks in the backcountry.
Despite having a certain weight the Revolt 121 has a very good pivot, even at low speeds, but remains super solid in chopped up snow where it's mass allows it to punch through while the ski does a good job filtering vibrations.

Grip is good on hardpack but given its rear rocker and especially its very centered mounting point, there is not the same ability to trim the curve as you can with the Head Kore 117 or K2 Mindbender 116C for example. The Revolt 121 turns with the ankles having a natural position in the middle of the ski, rather than pressuring the tip with lots of pressure on the shins.
A modern freestyle backcountry ski, the Revolt 121 will please not only newschool skiers wanting a playful ski that cruises chopped up snow effortlessly, but also more traditional skiers used to applying heaps of pressure underfoot when skiing difficult snow and who want a more playful ski that turns easily in soft snow.
The Revolt 121 is a sucess and will please both young backcountry wolves and older grizzly freeriders!!

Volkl Revolt 121 Ski Features:

Rocker
Tip & Tail Rocker with tradition camber underfoot.
Multilayer Woodcore
The combination of beech and poplar results in an extremely durable wood core composed of hard wood in the binding area and lighter wood around.
3 Radius Sidecut
Three radii in one ski shape deliver maximum versatility - long radii at the tip and tail for stability and smoothness, and a short radius in the mid-body allows the skier to switch from long arcs to short turns at will, at any speed.
Base
P-Tex 2100 , a sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
